About this service
Most gardens are built piecemeal — a patio one year, a fence the next — and end up as a collection of jobs rather than a place you want to sit in. Design is the step that stops that happening. We start with how you actually use the space: where the sun lands in the evening, where the children play, where the bins have to go, and what you would rather not look at.
You get a plan showing levels, surfaces, planting areas and boundaries, with materials specified before anything is ordered. That matters most on sloping or awkward plots, where the difference between a garden that works and one that does not is usually decided at the levels stage, long before anyone lays a paving slab.
Because we build what we design, the plan is costed against work we actually carry out rather than left as a drawing for somebody else to price. If a detail is going to be expensive, we will tell you at the drawing stage while it is still cheap to change.

Our process
Site Visit & Brief
We walk the garden with you, take levels and measurements, and talk through how you want to use it — including the parts you would rather not look at.
Concept Plan
A scale drawing showing surfaces, levels, planting areas and boundaries, so you can see how the space works as a whole before committing to any of it.
Materials & Costing
We specify the actual materials and price the work against them, so the plan you approve is the plan you can afford rather than an aspiration.
Revisions
We adjust the plan until it is right. Changes at this stage cost a phone call; changes once the groundwork is in cost considerably more.
Build
The same team carries out the work, so nothing is lost between the drawing and the finished garden.
